Before I continue, I just want to make it clear that my opinions are MY OPINIONS. These are not the official positions of any church, my family, or my friends. These are my thoughts, so don’t go taking it out on anyone but me. I also suggest that you go figure out your own personal convictions, and not just parrot the convictions of others, including “leaders”, the majority of people (if it’s popular, that’s a good sign it’s temporary), and even opinionated people like me.
Here are some reasons why:
1. You have a brain. Use it. – Some people use their brains like media-junkies use their macs – a place to store pictures, songs, movies, and browse sites. Your brain, like a mac, is much more powerful than that. It’s not only for storing things or for doing involuntary activities such as breathing, it can do many powerful voluntary things too, such as think, process, compare, contrast, critique, understand, and decide. When you hear, read, watch, or experience anything, use your brain. Usually, we make mistakes not because we didn’t know better, but we didn’t think through what we know better.
2. It’s your life. Live it. – Sometimes we’re too afraid to live our own
All of us will give our perspective but none of us will suffer the consequences of your convictions like you will. Yes, we may be affected, but you’ll
