@elijahbonifacio and I found old @raspberrypi part @elijahbonifacio and I found old @raspberrypi parts and built a @lego house for it. We then connected it to the TV in the living room, my @logitechg gaming mouse and @logitech Bluetooth keyboard = a minicomputer that can get on the Internet and play media! Though the peripherals cost most more than the computer, I think it’s important for kids to know that they can put machines together themselves and understand how they work. I’ve seen this “space” evolve from pandemic- I’ve seen this “space” evolve from pandemic-hit and barely-finished to green and ready to rumble. I think all greatness requires some defiance, a willingness to challenge the accepted thinking, the expert analysis, and the comfortable status quo. I love stories of defiance, especially those that go against great odds, who risk financial, physical, and reputational loss for a more meaningful future. My first guest was @motormanwrithes, founder and CEO of ASPACE, a community work space, that has been hit extremely hard by the pandemic (as is much of the work space world). This is exactly why I wanted to have a conversation with him about how he and his team are responding to the craziness of the situation. The entrepreneurial journey is HARD! And I think popular media hasn’t done a good job of presenting the unglamorous reality, the ugly journey, and daily struggles entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial teams go through in order to realize a vision. I do not believe that everyone should be an entrepreneur or should join a startup. It is one of the riskiest and hardest things one can do. But if you have a clear picture in your head of a better life and a better world, something so beautiful to you that you are willing to risk time, money, energy, reputation, and more, and do so without needing regular validation, then maybe entrepreneurship is for you.
