My Friend

He is no friend who cheers your mediocrity and helps you settle for less than you can be.

It is true today as it was then, show me who your friends are and I’ll show you who you are.

Encourage me, challenge me, comfort me, defend me, fight for me, even if against my own stubbornness, that is a friend.

Don’t tickle me with lies I’m inclined to believe. Don’t tell me it’s ok to be selfish. Only an enemy leads others to pain.

Remind me of that beautiful picture and dare me to believe. Remind me of the future of those who hope in Him.

And let us share in the joys and pains of this journey together, as we walk by faith and not by sight.

  1. There are “friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother. – Proverbs 18:24 :

    God bless you David! 🙂
