Buti Na Lang
This is my first Tagalog song. It’s to be performed in a few days and is still not finished! I wrote it for my friend and his fiancé for their wedding. As I wrote it, I thought about a couple that didn’t settle for the very real fears of real life, but chose to have faith, to believe in each other, and to also believe that love, if true love, not the superficial and cheap kind, can only be a gift from God, and is worth holding on to and fighting for. Someone once told me that our assumptions of our future will determine how we live in the present. This is a song about fearful assumptions – and the celebration of a couple who overcame them.
